Solar Eclipses are powerful new moons. Symbolically, it is a time when the universe is letting us know that the message in this chart is extra important and PAY ATTENTION!

If you have a personal planet or point (sun, moon, Venus, mars, ascendant, midheaven) at the degree of the solar eclipse then you will see something happen in your outer world that is related to the planet that was eclipsed.

For everyone, whether you have a planet at this degree or not, it is a time when you will be able to ride the astrological wave of intent and capture the moment to be able to expand your awareness and your personal boundaries of what you know into a greater arena.

The astrology for this solar eclipse suggests that we will confront a few blind spots in our view of the world. Even if you are not an astrologer or those around you are not into astrology, you will see the manifestation of these significant times. It is similar to the old saying, just because you don’t know how electricity works, doesn’t mean you don’t get the benefit of light when you flip the switch.

When you are interpreting a chart you want to first look at where the planets are (the signs) and the aspects between the planets. This sets the stage for what will happen and what we are meant to learn from these times.

The solar eclipse is at 0 degrees, this in itself is quite important as it immediately tells you that the next new moon will also be in Gemini. Two new moons in Gemini and with one   an eclipse points to the significance how important understanding, communication and how you think will be prominent over the next several weeks.

So what does this particular astrology chart say and how do you go about interpreting the chart? First look at the aspects with the sun and moon. We want to look at hard aspects; the squares, oppositions, semi squares, which are the circle divided by twos. You will see that the sun and moon is squaring mars in Virgo and Chiron and Neptune in Pisces. What does this mean? The closest square is with Neptune, therefore it is extremely important to be realistic and idealistic at the same time. There may be something that happens where you feel let down, discouraged or even betrayed by life (more on the theme later) yet it is vital to keep the faith, to believe in your life and what you know in your heart is true. At the same time challenge your beliefs! Are they really yours or do you espouse words that have been implanted and memorized from years gone by and don’t give them a second thought. This is a time to think.

Mars and Chiron are opposite, Chiron; the civilized centaur was a teacher, who taught the children of the ‘gods” music, herbs, astronomy, and medicine.  Chiron opposite mars can have several interpretations, one, the most obvious is the opposing forces between the need to heal, and the fighting stance against mar aggression and selfishness. Looking deeper into the meaning can be two colleagues, after all Chiron did teach the warrior Achilles who later led the Trojan War, arguing their personal point of view. Mars in Virgo can suggest it is time to put action and effort into serving and physical healing; Chiron in Pisces is to heal the soul’s wounds.  The open end of this T square is Sagittarius, finding the answers through truth and living according to what is right and just.

In addition there is a conjunction of Jupiter, Mercury, and Sedna in Taurus quincunx Saturn in Libra who is opposite Eris. Adjusting to what is fair for all relationships, such as our relationships with our coworkers, family, community, citizens of our country and the people who we share the planet with are all part of this equation.

This time is especially strong for those who feel they have been left out of the bounty and nourishment from the earth, whether they were passed over for a job, feel angry that their safety or material security has been diminished, or are living in a country where they cannot get clean water and food for their children.

As many of you know we are living in great times of opportunity for change on the planet and in our own lives. The start of 7 Uranus Pluto squares will begin June 24^th 2012 with the last exact square occurring on March 16 2015. The message from the universe is to seek truth within, think different, heal your inner wounds, and understand what needs to be balanced and adjusted in your personal life. In taking these steps the healing from within will continue to radiate out to support and help your world, family, community, and in turn uplift the vibration for the planet one person at a time.

The Scorpio full moon will appear larger in the sky than any other time this year; hence the term super. (the moon will be at its perigee- closer to earth.)

Soak in the vibes, sit and meditate of the full moon and feel the pulsation and vibration of an invisible arm surround you, letting you know that with trust and care, all will be fine.

The Sun in Taurus symbolizes, (among other things) the gardener; One who carefully plants the seeds, and has the patience and fortitude to provide what the seed needs to develop; water, sunlight, soil, and waits for the fruits of one’s labor. What is needed comes from Scorpio, the opposite, trust. Trust that the seed will deliver what is the promise from within. If one did not trust, then a few days after you planted the seed you can give up. What I don’t see any tomatoes! I am out of here!

Where in your life do you want, crave or desire something that deep inside you are not sure if you trust the universe, the system, or yourself to be able to have?

This super full moon can pull up from your subconscious these questions to be answered.

With it are concerns over what is valued (Taurus) and feelings of jealousy. What is jealousy if not an internal frustration that one has something you do not have or fear that one might take away something you have? It is a belief of limitation.

The universe is giving us an opportunity to examine our beliefs and thoughts on these issues, and to let go of inner turmoil or frustration around them.

This full moon chart has an exact Mercury Saturn opposition; what this implies is to be conscious of your words. Your thinking process is meant to take time to mull over what you want to say and what you really mean. It also implies to be responsible for what you say and not to recklessly commit to something that you have no intention of carrying out.

In addition Saturn in opposing Eris, a dwarf planet (the astronomers are now discovering dwarf planets like Pluto, a conjecture that astrologers made nearly 100 years ago from observations of events in WW1). Eris represents being left out, not being included. Again this full moon will bring to the surface the inequalities of where you have felt excluded in life, left out.

For some it could be the family you never had, the love that eludes you, the opportunity for career that never presented itself to you. One way to get in touch where this wound could be in your life would be to think about any time you saw something and thought or were told That’s not going to happen: In your dreams kid: No! You think money grows on trees? That’s not for us folks; etc. Or feelings of longing when you see someone in a situation that you don’t have, like a couple in the park when you want a romantic relationship and you are single.

You get the idea, let whatever come up for you bubble up so you can let go, get to a place where you can be the gardener of your hopes, dreams and wishes, and trust that with the requirements provided for your seeds, that with time the fruit of your efforts manifest.

Happy May Day, or Beltane, the time of year to celebrate the midway point of the spring equinox and the summer solstice. The month is ushered in with the moon in Virgo, an earthy beginning to an eventful month. This weekend can enable you to cut to the bottom of hidden issues and purge old and outdated ways of being that hold you back. Mercury shifts into Taurus on Wednesday the 9th, the ability to think methodical and slower may appear unattractive in our fast talking society, yet this gift promises a well thought out plan you can stick with. Mother’s day, Sunday the 13th there is a conjunction of the Sun with Jupiter in Taurus. This conjunction is about expanding your consciousness to believe in your creative abilities on the earth plane. Cancer: (June 22- July 22) Find time to stretch out on your lawn chair with a refreshing drink and relax. Close friends stop by to keep you company and share in casual conversation. Don’t be too surprised if a friend ask you to help them out with taking their four legged baby to the Vet; helping out friends of the two and four legged variety is part of the plan. Venus will be moving retrograde in your solar house of retreat, having time to think is good, yet make sure you feel you are the master of your mind and that your thoughts or worries do not dominate or control your emotional well-being.

Leo: (July 23- August 22) The sun is moving through your solar tenth house of public appearances and career, soak in the lime light it is your time to show them what you got! Remember to breathe deeply and if something needs to be corrected, don’t worry, you will still be loved. This way as different planets move into different signs with different aspects to other planets then you learn as it is happening and you can experience the planetary influence in real time. Follow your own transits and pay attention to how life unfolds.

Saturday the 21st @ 3:18am EDT the sun and moon come together and begin the new cycle for Taurus. Taurus is an earth sign and seeks security through having.

Abraham Maslow hierarchy of needs states that we cannot, as human beings, actualize to our highest potential if we do not have our basic needs met.

Taurus, among other things, is about feeling comfortable, safe and secure- it includes the value of having things: a roof over your head, food to eat, and enough money to purchase what you want. Since Pluto shifted into Capricorn, 2008, and at the critical station in September 2008, much of the world and people have seen old fashion security crumble. Pluto is now at 9 degrees Capricorn and will form a square with Uranus 7 times over the next few years. What does this mean for you and the world? Demands for change in large corporations and in governments that have become too entrenched in old ways of doing things which no longer work, and it is an opportunity for you to make changes in your life that no longer support you.

The underlying concern for Taurus is am I secure? Sure we can get carried away- wanting more or thinking we need more- yet this cycle can address a very fundamental need to have. Spring has sprung in my backyard; the azaleas are spectacular with the background of flowering trees a landscape of pink, white, and purple, and the leaves the soft shade of spring green.

In ancient times astrologers would cast the charts of the equinoxes, solstices, and eclipses to forecast the next three months.

The symbols in these charts represent what the theme will be for us and collectively for humanity.

As always there is a positive side and a shadow side. Many times the collective will tap into the negative side of the planetary influence, (as can be seen with the war posturing and name calling in political areas). Yet great hope is shown for the light workers of the planet to connect with the positive blessings and inspiration that is being showered down from the planetary influences.

Cancer: (June 22- July 22) Worries or stress that have lingered over known situations and even situations that bother you but can’t exactly explain why begin to subside as you become more assured and comfortable that you will be safe and secure no matter what. Changes around a family member can have you wondering how much you are meant to help out. Don’t allow gossip or negative vibes from work to send ripples through your emotional body. Finding time to spend with those you love most will bring joy, although having time to retreat and regroup needs to be honored also. Balance is the key this month.

Scorpio: (October 24-November 21) Any disappointment or bad news that you have experienced over the last three years can have an accumulative effect on you this month. Release the negative emotions that were buried in your system and make a promise to self that you will survive and thrive. We have a major shift happening this week in astrology, Neptune, the planet that symbolizes the artist, dreamer and shape shifter is leaving the land of Aquarius and moving back home to Pisces on Friday the 3rd. Neptune will be in Pisces for 14 years so we will have plenty of time to get familiar with the gifts of Neptune.

As Neptune slips through your chart you will have a vague notion, (Neptune only whispers) of something different to bring into your life that is creative, spiritual, or dream like.

Neptune is not of this world, it is of the world that is of spirit, not matter.

Part of what will become more important will be the areas of life that have to do with creativity, music, spiritual growth and a deeper more meaningful purpose to life. Listen to your inner spirit and what your soul is asking for to be fulfilled.

The everyday world of “making it” can appear less attractive and not have as much hold on you as before. That is not to say that your career and goals will disappear, however it does indicate that you may question if your goals and what you do has a spiritual meaning beneath the surface.
